I am currently using Adobe's Muse software to build bespoke html websites. I favour working closely with a client to help them keep their site up to date and looking correct with a minimum of time and financial outlay. I also offer consultancy on optimising the use of social media and web presence for musicians (use of Facebook, Twitter, Bandcamp, etc).
Delete your MySpace page now! One-page websites are becoming more popular as people are trusting to networks and cloud-computing services such as Facebook, SoundCloud and Vimeo to host their documents and media. A single page site loads all at once and runs quickly and smoothly throughout. The format encourages brevity, conciseness and minimal navigation, and allows for consistent links to be maintained to external services (networks, blogs, multimedia content).
"Mat has a nice line in sites that look classic and mean business but are still quirky, individual, functional and idiosyncratic." - Kirsty McGee
Examples: Kirsty McGee | Friensemblet | Mary Epworth | Boreas | The Brute Chorus | Mix-Up
I specialise in one-page sites for the Arts, especially for musicians, but am happy to discuss projects for any brief. I also offer consultancy to musicians on the use of networking and hosting services. Please drop me a line for more information, and visit my blog.

INFORMATION & PRICING
For businesses or projects which require a more in-depth presence, or who have more complex information to present, a classic multi-page site is often a better fit than a one-page site. I am of course happy to discuss this option with interested parties.
Examples: Imagine Mirrors [more sites coming soon]
One of the biggest issues around managing a website is updating. This can be a costly problem if small, regular updates are often required. Whilst a Wordpress site doesn't offer such a wide design pallete as a bespoke html site, it comes with the one great advantage of being user-run through an ordinary Internet browser. I have built several of these sites for musicians and artists who wish to have control of their own site without learning to code or buying expensive software.
Examples: Flatpack Music | Katheryn Petersen | Quiet Loner
N.B. Although the design & build work of these example sites is my own it should be remembered that in most cases their maintenance and updating is now controlled by the owners.
